The Fantasy

The logic sounds smart in your head:

“If they want to engage, they’ll have to upgrade.”

That works…If people already desperately want to be in the room. Most small creators aren’t running a sold-out room. They’re running an open house. See the difference?

Here’s What Actually Happens

Reader sees your post. They scroll. They see the lock on comments:

And then? Nothing dramatic.

They just move on. 98% of the time, nobody is paying to unlock the comment section of someone they barely know.

That strategy works for:

• Creators with 50,000+ subscribers
• Established media brands
• People with status gravity
• Writers whose community already feels addicted

It does not work for someone still trying to earn trust.

Engagement Is Oxygen

When you’re small, comments are:

• Social proof

• Algorithm fuel

• Relationship builders

• Feedback loops

Locking them is like charging admission to an empty gym. You’re not going to monetize a quiet room.

For some time now, I’ve studied the differences between the Qur’an and the Holy Bible. The more I’ve compared them side by side, the more convinced I’ve become that the Qur’an simply doesn’t withstand scrutiny the way the Bible does. The differences between the two aren’t minor. They strike at the core.

Christianity and Islam disagree on one of the most widely attested executions in ancient history. Christianity declares that Jesus was crucified under Pontius Pilate. Islam says it only appeared that way.

Not exactly a small disagreement.

Roman crucifixion was not symbolic. It was brutal and professionally carried out. First-century sources, Christian and non-Christian alike, affirm that Jesus was executed.

Islam’s denial comes more than six centuries later. So this isn’t about emotion. It’s about history.

At the center of Christianity is one unavoidable event: the crucifixion of Jesus.

Islam claims Jesus was not crucified, but that it only appeared so (Qur’an 4:157). That single statement creates a direct collision with history.

There’s just one problem.

The crucifixion of Jesus is one of the most widely accepted events in ancient history — not just among Christians, but among secular historians as well.

• Roman historian Tacitus (Annals 15.44) confirms Jesus was executed under Pontius Pilate.

• Jewish historian Josephus references Jesus’ crucifixion.

• The Babylonian Talmud acknowledges Jesus’ execution.

• Even skeptical scholars like Bart Ehrman affirm that Jesus’ death by crucifixion is historically certain.

This is not debated territory in serious scholarship. The debate is about what the crucifixion means, not whether it happened.

Now let’s talk about the brutality of crucifixion. Crucifixion was engineered suffering. Before Jesus even reached the cross, He was scourged. Roman flogging involved a whip embedded with bone and metal fragments. It tore flesh and exposed muscle. Sometimes it even exposed bone. Many men died from the flogging alone.

Then came the cross.

Nails through wrists and feet. Suspension of the body so that breathing required pushing up against the nail wounds. It was slow suffocating, a lot of blood loss, shock, dehydration, and hours of agony. Geez…can you imagine?

Modern medical analysis (including research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association) concludes that survival from Roman crucifixion, especially after severe scourging, would be medically implausible.

And Rome was very good at killing people. Soldiers were trained executioners. If they failed to ensure death, they faced death themselves. In Jesus’ case, a spear was thrust into His side, producing what eyewitness John described as “blood and water” — consistent with post-mortem fluid separation.

To suggest Jesus survived this, escaped a sealed tomb, overpowered guards, and convinced His followers He had conquered death strains credibility far more than the resurrection itself.

If He didn’t die, there is no resurrection. And no resurrection means no Christianity. But the earliest Christian sources, written within decades of the event, proclaim boldly that He died and rose.

Paul’s creed in 1 Corinthians 15 is dated by many scholars to within 5 years of the crucifixion. That is extraordinarily early by ancient standards.

Islam, by contrast, offers its correction over 600 years later.

So the question becomes:

Do we trust eyewitness-based testimony rooted in the first century — or a later revelation that contradicts established history?

For us, the answer is clear. The cross is not a misunderstanding.
It is the foundation. will tell you in his testimony here that the cross is the foundation of the world.

And if the crucifixion is historically secure, then Islam’s denial of it becomes a theological problem that cannot be brushed aside.

Do the Claims Hold Up?

Let’s look through some content in the qu’ran (or as I like to call it: “the ka-wrong”) that debunk it from its status in islam as divine scripture, starting with some contradictions:

* Verses 7:54 and 10:3 state the world was created in six days, but in a detailed breakdown in Surah 41:9-12, it says eight days.

* The qu’ran alternates between stating the earth was created before the heavens (2:29) and that the heavens were created before the earth (79:27-30).

* Humans are described as being created from clay (15:26), dust (3:59), or “nothing” (19:67), leading to debates over whether these are contradictory or different descriptions of the same process. (Not all content is contradictory, infactual points don’t count, even if they are against something wrong)

And we also see historical inaccuracies all over the place:

* We see “Haman” placed in Pharaoh’s court during Moses’ time (Surah 28:6) but Haman was a Persian official from the 5th century BCE, centuries after the Exodus.

* It tells of Joseph being sold for “coins” (Surah 12:20) but coins weren’t used in ancient Egypt... Rather, weighted measures (shekels) were used as the historic currency.

* The Qu’ran mentions David crafting chainmail (Surah 34:10-11), but historical evidence shows chainmail was invented much later by the Celts (around 5th century BCE).
* The Qu’ran states Jesus was not crucified, but appeared so (Surah 4:15) contradicting historical consensus and placing crucifixion (introduced by Persians) in Egypt during Moses’ era (Surah 20:71) a clear list of historical inaccuracies.

* It calls Mary Magdalene “sister of Aaron” (Surah 19:28) which conflates her with Moses’ sister Miriam who lived thousands of years earlier.
* The Qu’ran’s portrayal of Alexander the great building a wall to contain Gog and Magog (Surah 18:83-98) draws from legendary myths, not historical accounts of Alexander.
* The Qu’ran describes the people of Thamud carving homes in rock (Petra), but Petra was built centuries later by the Nabateans, not Thamud.

All of these historical inaccuracies observed in the qu’ran are CLEAR signs it was fabricated through a modern lense ripping off Christianity to establish Arab culture and customs in their caliphates for reasons of control.
Besides, writings about Jesus in islam are hundreds of years older than those in Christianity (and contradict the thousands of eye witness accounts and official documents written about him hours, days, weeks, years, and decades after his life)

For these reasons, I could never be muslim. It’s truly a shame millions have died believing it’s true and even giving their lives in martyrdom for it.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, truth does not fear examination.

If a book claims to be the final, perfect, uncreated word of God, then it must withstand scrutiny. If something is truly from God, it will not collapse under careful analysis.

Christianity does not ask you to suspend reason. It invites you to test it. The resurrection of Jesus is not presented as a mystical legend but as a historical claim rooted in eyewitness testimony. The gospel does not shift depending on political climate or later reinterpretation. It stands on a fixed event in history: Christ crucified and risen.

The question isn’t whether people can sincerely believe something. Many do. The question is whether it’s true.

If Jesus truly died and rose again, then everything changes. If He is who He claimed to be — not merely a prophet or teacher, but the Son of God, then He cannot simply be placed alongside other religious figures as one option among many.

Truth is exclusive by nature. Two contradictory claims cannot both be right. So the real invitation here is simple: examine the evidence. Read both texts. Test the claims. Ask hard questions.

And follow the truth wherever it leads. Because eternity is too important to get wrong.

This one. This one, my friends, is absolutely wild.

Now before we get started, let me just say this: some of you are going to dismiss what I am talking about for one of the following reasons:

• “Near-death experiences are just brain chemistry.”
  

• “It’s oxygen deprivation. Hallucinations. Trauma.”
  

• “People see what they already believe.”
  

• “This is emotional manipulation dressed up as faith.”
  

• Or my personal favorite: “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.”

Fair enough. But here’s the awkward part.

The stories coming out of operating rooms, cardiac units, and emergency wards are not coming from Sunday school teachers. They’re coming from hardened skeptics and people who have flat lined. These are men and women who had no belief in God… until they were clinically dead.

Ohhh and there’s also this….from the Holy Bible itself:

2 Corinthians 12:2–4

Paul writes:

“I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago—whether in the body I do not know, or whether out of the body I do not know, God knows—such a one was caught up to the third heaven. And I know such a man—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows—how he was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.”

These are not “mythical stories” or ideas pulled out of thin air. Yes, some people lie for attention. That’s real. But when independent accounts start overlapping across cultures and beliefs, that’s not random. That’s what I call converging evidence.

As Christians, we’ve experienced God’s communication in the most inspiring of ways. Maybe it was a song that played at the right moment, or a completely “random” scripture that hit us just when we needed it. It’s likely we’ve all experienced a Sunday sermon which prompted our hearts to leap with joy and our body to shift in our seats, all because we knew beyond any shadow of a doubt, it was God speaking directly to us. Some have been fortunate enough to have heard a “voice” they knew belonged to no one else but Him. All these events can be viewed as answers to a prayer, affirmation that you’re living in the Spirit and the Word. Or that you’re not – and a serious call to action must be mandated to get your spiritual house in order before that final day arrives. It will be for all of us. But for some, it came in the form of something they never expected, and with shuddering results.

For thousands of people - Christians, Atheists, Agnostics, Satanists, Muslims, and Buddhists to name just a few - their “God-wink” came in the form of a life-altering, breathtaking, and sometimes, terrifying biological end. In Near-Death Experiences (NDEs), people were given a rare opportunity to visit heaven (or hell) and returned to tell us about their experiences. Before anyone discounts this concept as heresy, nonsense, or fantasy, consider the means available to us today in the fields of medicine and science. We’re living in an age where the two can, in fact, live in relative harmony with one another, where one can substantiate the occurring miracles of the other which would otherwise defy any imaginable logic. To many of us, that would invariably point to none other than God Himself. I personally owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to NDE testimonies. I also owe an enormous debt to God for allowing them to happen.

We’ll drill down on some fascinating research and studies relating to NDE’s here in a moment, but first I want to elaborate on why NDE’s may hold amazing promise for the Christian and non-Christian alike. These encounters have completely reshaped the people who endured them. For some, it ignited a faith that never existed their entire lives. For the faithful, it emblazoned a courage and conviction to share with the world, the existence with our God Who awaits. The others contend that they experienced a terrifying separation from God, and it was but one poor choice away. For nearly everyone, it paved the way for making sweeping life-changes necessary in making things right with God. For me personally, their testimonies completely upended the way I view God, and how I worship Him in a much deeper way.

One of the most compelling studies to be completed by any one person is with former Agnostic, Engineer, and former Lead Pastor of Gateway Church in Austin, Texas, John Burke. He authored the NY Times best-selling book, “Imagine Heaven” where he describes his detailed research on NDEs. For over 35 years, Mr. Burke conducted studies with over 1,500 people who had Near-Death Experiences. Of the 1,500s+, an alarming 23% described a hellish experience. While I’m no expert in this field, I’ve watched close to a hundred interviews to date - their body language, comfort/discomfort levels, and the common descriptions used throughout the stories speak volumes to their integrity. The details they provided have significant parallels to each other.

In one of the most alarming testimonies, just shy of two hours long, John Burke interviews former self-proclaimed agnostic Riley Huddleston. Riley was only 19 years old when she was severely wounded in a jet ski accident. While the details aren’t appropriate to describe here, her body succumbed to catastrophic damage and substantial blood loss. She was ultimately recovered by paramedics and wheeled into an ambulance. There was little hope she would survive. During that brief time, she not only experienced a tour of heaven from an angel in what she assumed would be her new home, Riley met an unmistakable presence she knew to be God (NDEs unanimously describe communication between themselves and others as “telepathic”).

What began as the most joyful experience no earthly words could articulate, quickly transitioned into extreme sadness – but it was not hers. Riley was acutely aware the deep sadness was to be of God’s. He expressed to her that she had never established a relationship with Him while she was alive. He recounted the opportunities where she consciously brushed Him aside, and were designed to bring them closer. He sadly revealed to her that she could not join where He was going. She immediately fell to her knees in supplication and regret, begging Him for forgiveness. What stands out to me to this very day, and what she recounts as His clear response to her, remains posted throughout my home in several rooms as a constant reminder. Simply, “YOU HAVE TO STAY AWAKE. IF YOU DON’T, THE CARDS WILL LAY WHERE THE CARDS LAY.”

As quickly as God’s command was voiced, Riley regained consciousness in the ambulance. She immediately understood what was being asked of her and the dire consequences if she didn’t comply. God had the knowledge of what was required of her medical team to save her life. It would be necessary for her to undergo emergency surgery with only local anesthetic; death was virtually certain if placed under full anesthesia. Her choice was clear – remain awake for a chance to live and change, or fall asleep, likely not survive, and have no second opportunity to make things right in her faith. To witness Riley’s testimony from start to finish is worth every minute of your time. I’ll be providing a video link below to Riley’s interview with John Burke (note #3).

My belief in NDEs has transitioned well beyond speculation. Long before my established faith, I’d likely have passed them off as nothing more than great filler for a “20/20” or “Barbara Walters” episode. I was simply too self-immersed in my own world to genuinely consider anything of spiritual consequence to be taking place outside of my own radius. Then one day in 2025, the NDE topic happened to clearly manifest itself at the tail end of five other significant spiritual events. When combined, they led me to a profound experience with God that was nothing short of providence. I’ll share more of that at the end.

I do recognize that there will be many who might argue the validity of placing faith in something which lacks biblical support. I respect that. I also have a tremendous anchor of conviction in both sides of the Heaven/Hell Near-Death Experiences. They provided the fuel to my now electrified conviction that the Lord our God has a personality that transcends the ancient antique figure we see painted on chapel ceilings. One of the most beautiful facets to the Christian faith, in my opinion, is that we have a very tangible, very approachable King in our Lord Jesus Christ. He makes Himself more accessible than any world version of gods that exist today, and there are many. God commands reverence, while making Himself available to us anywhere and anytime; no schedule, no intercessions from another, no appointments, no holds barred. Worthy to note, in cases where the Atheist, Agnostic, Muslim, or Hindu NDEs have occurred, their experiences did NOT manifest any presence of their familiar icons or statues – they saw Jesus Christ, the Risen Son of God. This in itself provides fuel for consideration by so many seeking meaning in God.

To be clear, NDEs did not serve as a means for defining my faith. I never questioned that “He is the same yesterday, today, and forever” Hebrews 13:8. The vivid imagery I came to discover in their testimonies felt to me like I was being given a sacred gift of a rare and beautiful view into the Heart of our Lord; not as an abstraction, but as a very real presence with personality and nearness to each of us. As each of the experiencers attested, God has only one goal in mind - to expend any effort necessary that will reunite His faithful children in the mission of establishing the eternal Kingdom He always intended.

The heaven testimonies are…incredible. The visual imagery painted in their words is unfathomably beautiful for those who only have visions of this world to compare. For those who glimpsed hell, the scenes and experiences were far beyond any nightmare you could create in your imagination. And it was the hellish experiences that introduced doubt into my salvation. So, there you have it – the last of six dominoes that prompted me to make sweeping changes in my life. I am absolutely convinced that had I died at any time before witnessing these testimonies, I most certainly would be one of the many souls in devastating shock after discovering I had actually traversed the wider path.

The transition of my beliefs beyond mere speculation relative to NDEs involved three critical stages:

(1) Listening from a clinical perspective; the following video initially introduced me to John Burke. It’s “the” video that opened my eyes to the reality that I was likely in very real trouble in my position with God:

2) Listening from a hellish perspective; this disturbing NDE as described by now, Pastor R. Cook, is perhaps the most detailed and frightening of the testimonies I’ve come across:

– Warning: P. Cook goes into very graphic detail as he describes the scenes he was forced to witness in the many levels of hell he endured.

3) Listening from an agnostic perspective; Riley Huddleston is interviewed by John Burke, who he included in his studies of over 1,500 NDEs. This is undeniably one of the most compelling, heart-felt testimonies by a former Agnostic, now-Christian, who actively sought to deny the existence of God. Medically speaking, the fact that she is alive is nothing short of a miracle:

I invite you to review any one of these testimonies and judge for yourself. There are hundreds on YouTube. There is absolutely no question in my mind that God has used both astonishingly beautiful and terrifying Near-Death Experiences to ignite the hearts of the faithful, and the formerly unfaithful. In strengthening our convictions through such mysterious glimpses of eternity with Him, sharing the gospel with renewed confidence and clarity is certain to induce a meaningful outcome in the Grand Commission. I know it has personally moved me in ways I never would have imagined possible.

As John Burke describes in his interviews, the experiencers of NDEs are doctors, college professors, CEOs, and everyday people - many of whom have been reticent to share their stories for fear of being called ‘crazy’ or losing credibility in their professions and communities. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder remains a very common struggle for many NDEs, particularly those who experienced hell.

There are striking parallels and eerily consistent traits within NDEs. Even more gripping is the common vernacular they use when recounting their experiences. The words used often mirror themselves with remarkable precision to others’ accounts. Unless these witnesses had meticulously compared notes with everyone else who reported similar experiences over the years, their consistency warrants serious consideration and lends significant weight to their accounts. The descriptions below are the ones most commonly appearing in people’s testimonies, and I’ve sectioned them by locations:

Heaven Experiences

• The Presence of God and Jesus Christ is without question.

• LOVE DEFINES GOD. LOVE DEFINES JESUS. “LOVE.” It’s all about LOVE. Not the kind of “love” we’re even familiar with. It’s more than anything we can humanly define as “love.” It’s more than an emotion. “LOVE” EMBODIES the entire realm of Heaven.

• Jesus Christ is unmistakable and as we “pictured” Him to look (beard/hair/nail scars)

• The robe of Jesus Christ contains colors upon colors within brilliant spectrums of light, radiating energy we can’t even relate to.

• Every question ever presented in life is instantaneously answered, consumed within the “mind” upon their very arrival to heaven.

• A “Life Review” is provided by Jesus Christ for everyone, with impeccable detail on every significant event ever experienced, good and not-so-good

• Upon their life review, they fully understood all of the hurts their actions inflicted upon Jesus Christ

• For survivors of traumatic events, pre-determined questions in life like, “Why was ____ allowed to happen” are replaced by, “Why didn’t I do more”

• Colors that don’t exist in our spectrum are displayed in vivid detail.

• Senses are heightened to a level multiplied many times over our current understanding of the five senses.

• Travel/mobility between destinations was as sudden as a thought.

• Everything appears in the sharpest of detail.

• Limitless vision into the distance with unmistakable clarity and understanding of what they’re looking at.

• Cities of gold, towering structures, translucent water and roads

• “Breathing” doesn’t function as it does here, people can “breathe” in water.

• Communication between everyone is “telepathic” and understood without confusion.

• For those with pets, they’re there too. Communication between your pets is a reality.

• Nature is perfect, trees have no broken branches, leaves can be seen from long distances as well as the veins within the leaves.

• All wildlife “rejoices” for God – it’s clearly perceived that everything which grows, exists in full glory and celebration to God (rejoicing can be heard and “felt”)

• Indescribable beauty in the simultaneous, audible chorus of all living things with the sole purpose of praising God – this is joined by the birds, animals, trees, and down to the blades of grass.

• The concept of “Eternity” is finally understood, and based on the final grasping of exactly Who God is, those who visited Heaven were able to understand WHY it will take all of Eternity to Praise God for Who He is (their words, not mine).

Hellish Experiences

• This is the most prevalent comment made in testimonies – the emotion of complete and utter HATRED of Christians and occupants of hell from demons is rampant. “Lukewarm Christians” have specifically designed realms of torture which are designed to allow demons to extract their vile anger towards those who were on the brink of salvation, yet failed to attain it. It’s exercised in a most excruciating and mocking manner. Demons hate the lukewarm Christians for the same reason they hate the light – they had the chance and they blew it. It will never be provided to them. This is also acknowledged by the Catholic Church.

• From the onset of death on earth, the transition from the body to a spirit form is instantaneous; they maintain full recognition of what form they left behind as their own and take it with them.

• Each are met by dark and evil presences, to include menacing dark and grey figures who project a mocking tone, bitterly and excitingly exclaiming, “We’ve been expecting you.”

• They discover the “color” black, and it’s nothing they can describe from their previous life; it has an evil, indescribable thickness and existence to it. While shrouded in darkness, they have 360 awareness and a physical inability to turn backwards, rather they’re pushed forward into further outer darkness and mocked along the way.

• Distance is travelled at the speed of a thought.

• They acknowledge their “sin nature”, and it’s a knowledge they cannot argue against – they know WHY they’re there and they understand it was for the sake of rejecting Jesus Christ. They also understand this realization will be repeated in their minds for eternity.

• From the first realization they’re in hell, everyone knows exactly why they’re there. It’s an immediate acceptance they know is impossible to change or fight against.

• Overwhelming emotions take over - hopelessness, fear, and anxiety, accompanied by complete acknowledgement of their separation from God and any source of light.

• Overwhelming audible screams of every soul contained within (it is often compared to multiple football stadiums of screaming attendees).

• Unquenchable thirst (Luke).

• Lakes and rivers of fire, bodies chained in rivers, conjoined by their common sins, millions of lights viewed as candles and seen for miles in the distance which are actually souls on fire.

• Traveling from one place to another is as sudden as a thought.

• Perhaps the most frightening and most common observation amongst every hellish experience, is the agonizing torture played upon all inhabitants by demons. Torments are customized to with the highest degree of pain; each torment is tailored to the individual’s specific sins and addictions while they lived. Torture scenarios are designed to magnify fear; while barring any description here of unspeakable actions performed by demons, the condition of every single tortured “body” regenerate, and the process repeats, with the suffering having complete knowledge of it lasting for an eternity.

Relative to my own personal discernment process, I will tell you that I consciously spent more time scouring testimonies that focused on Hell. I make sure I reconnect my joy to those who experienced Heaven, but the others are the ones which really remind me of the choices I made, the poor decisions that hurt others, and hurt God. I see my failures and selfish desires as my having senselessly driven the nails into Jesus Christ all over again. Consciously aligning myself with those who have journeyed the wider path and later experienced the devastating outcome (only to return and warn those willing to listen) is what fuels my passion to share the gospel. The phenomenal American Christian Apologetic, Cliff Knechtel, quoted a Las Vegas comedian during one of his interviews, “How much do you think I have to hate you if I believe that Jesus is the way to heaven and not tell you.” Yeah, let that one sink in. THAT my friends, is exactly why we proselytize. It may irritate people, but they’ll thank us when they’re saved.

If there’s anything that has resonated with me more as a Christian, it’s the fact that God will use whatever means is necessary to make us HEAR Him. He enables each of us to grasp exactly Who He is if we listen, and pray, and study His Word. It is up to each of us to seek His will for our lives and prepare TODAY for the eternal life that awaits. But it must be done in such a way that we are seeking Jesus Christ on a personal level, and not just by going through the motions. It’s important for me to note that I strongly believe the foremost source of communication from God is our Holy Bible. It’s taken decades for me to appreciate embracing it more as the love story it was intended to be than any other book I’ll ever read. We also have the technology at our fingertips which open our hearts and minds to boundless reach and communication from people who we otherwise never would have heard from. Just like the people who’ve experienced heaven or hell, and returned to tell us about it. The real question is, will we listen?

What if Christianity became illegal. Tomorrow. Let’s think about that for a second… and think hard.

• Running water.

• Entertainment.

• Food… yes… food. Most of the world is starving.

Yet faithful Christians are literally being slaughtered.

And here’s the part that should stop us cold: if that same persecution came to your home, your church, your community… would you still be faithful like those Nigerians?

The Part We Don’t Like to Admit

American Christianity has gotten used to being safe. Not just “safe,” but respected. Also convenient. Something you can fit between work, ball practice, a cookout, and a Netflix binge. We’ve turned the cross into décor. But the real cross was never décor. The real cross was an execution device.

And that’s why I want to drag an old book back into the room like a thunderstorm rolling in—Foxe’s Book of Martyrs.

This book is not pleasant. It’s not supposed to be. And it isn’t “inspiring” in a cute coffee-mug way. Most assuredly, it is not.

Why? because it tells the truth: Christianity has never been mainly about comfort. It’s been about faithfulness—even when it costs everything.

Foxe Isn’t Trying to Entertain You—He’s Warning You

Foxe records story after story of believers who didn’t get to “avoid suffering.” They didn’t get to quietly keep their faith while blending into the wallpaper. They were hunted, questioned, and mocked. Or, even worse:

• Imprisoned.

• Burned.

• Beheaded.

• Torn apart.

And the haunting thing is this: a lot of them could’ve walked free. All they had to do was bend. Just say the right words. Sign the paper. Kiss the ring. Attend the approved version of religion. But Jesus? Let’s just keep him…private.

That temptation is not ancient. It’s current. Because persecution doesn’t usually begin with swords, it begins with pressure.

Some of these words might ring a bell:

• Social pressure

• Career pressure (even Pastors)

• Family pressure.

• Just be quiet.

• Just don’t say that.

• Just stop being so serious

• Just go along.

Yeah. That’s enough for a lot. Enough to call in the white flag. It’s pathetic.

The Fire Tests What We’re Actually Made Of

One of the most gut-check parts of Foxe’s Book of Martyrs is how normal so many of these believers were—until the moment came. They weren’t superheroes.

Just simple people. Like: Farmers. Mothers. Preachers. Tradesmen. Young people. Old people.

And when the state demanded they deny Christ, they didn’t treat it like a debate. They stood firm on their decision. No denying Christ. Ever.

Some of them faced the stake with a calm that makes modern Christianity look… honestly, kind of soft. The pain was of course…excruciating. But, they loved Jesus more than life.

And that’s where we need to get honest: most of us don’t fear lions in an arena. We fear awkward conversations, being disliked, losing status, losing comfort, and losing the “normal life.”

Foxe’s martyrs lost everything. Literally.

Suffering Isn’t a Glitch in Christianity—It’s Part of the Deal

This is where a lot of Christians get messed up. We treat suffering like it’s a sign something has gone wrong. But the New Testament treats suffering like it’s proof you’re actually following the right Person.

Jesus said, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow Me.” (Luke 9:23)

A cross. Daily. A cross. Not supposed to be comfortable.

And Foxe is basically one long, bloody reminder that Christians before us understood that. They didn’t try to passively avoid suffering as their main strategy. They embraced obedience—even if suffering came with it.

So Let Me Ask You Again

If Christianity became illegal tomorrow…

• Would you still gather with believers?

• Would you still pray out loud?

• Would you still confess Christ if your job was on the line?

• Would you still teach your kids the gospel if it made you a target?

• Would you still worship if the cost became real?

Because that’s the question we keep dodging. And if you’re thinking, “I’m not sure,” good. It’s time to re-examine your faith and do something about it.

Some of you are probably already thinking I’m wandering into conspiracy-theory territory with this one. And maybe, just maybe, I am. But stay with me for a minute.

There’s a growing New Age idea floating around about “reptilians.” In modern terms, they’re described as lizard-like beings who supposedly operate behind the scenes—manipulating governments, banks, institutions, and power structures while remaining mostly unseen. At first glance, it sounds a little unhinged. I get that.

But pause for a second and look at it through a biblical lens.

If we rewind all the way back to the beginning—to the Garden of Eden—we don’t just find Adam and Eve. We find the serpent. This wasn’t myth or symbolism pulled out of thin air. He was a deceiver and manipulator. A being that didn’t appear as a monster, but as something subtle and convincing.

So call it a theory if you want….or speculation. But it’s not a stretch to say that what many people today are trying to describe in secular language may simply be an attempt to explain what Scripture has already identified: demonic deception.

Give me a moment to explain—this may not be as far-fetched as it sounds.

Why the Bible already explains what modern theories are trying to describe

Most people first hear about “reptilians” through the work of David Icke.

If you’re unfamiliar, the idea goes something like this: hidden, non-human forces operate behind the scenes of global power—governments, banks, institutions—manipulating the world while appearing human on the surface. Icke describes them as shape-shifting, reptilian beings. Lizard-like Elites hiding in plain sight.

At first glance, it sounds absolutely ridiculous. It’s the sort of thing you laugh off.

And yet… the idea won’t go away.

I’m not saying everyone suddenly believes in lizard people, but people do feel something is off:

• Power without conscience.

• Authority without empathy or accountability.

• Systems that feel predatory rather than protective.

• A world that looks normal on the surface but feels wrong underneath.

Here’s where I want to slow this down.

I don’t agree with David Icke’s conclusions. I don’t share his worldview. But I do recognize the instinct behind his theory. He’s trying—clumsily and without Scripture—to describe something the Bible has been warning about since the very beginning.

To understand that, we don’t need secret bloodlines or sci-fi explanations.
We need to go back to a garden.

The First Deception Didn’t Start With Power—It Started With a Serpent

Before deception ever showed up in governments or institutions, it showed up in Eden.

Genesis doesn’t introduce evil as loud or violent. It’s the opposite— subtle. The serpent doesn’t attack Eve, but he questions her and twists God’s words just enough to sound reasonable. Satan is clever. He can disguise rebellion as insight. So he knew not to appear as a monster. He was smarter than that. He appeared as something enticing and convincing.

So, if everyone today is sensing some kind of hidden manipulation—something cold, calculating, and inhuman beneath the surface—they aren’t crazy. They’re recognizing a pattern. They’re just using modern, secular language to describe an ancient spiritual reality.

What David Icke calls “reptilians,” Scripture calls deceiving spirits.
They’re not monsters walking around in plain sight—but influence hiding behind appearances.

Shape-Shifting Isn’t About Bodies—It’s About Disguise

The Bible is actually very careful here.

It doesn’t teach that demons change their DNA or walk around as cartoon villains. It teaches that they masquerade. They disguise themselves or appear as light, truth, authority, and even righteousness.

The goal was never to make evil look terrifying, but rather— make it look normal.

From the serpent in the garden to wolves in sheep’s clothing, the strategy has always been the same: blend in, manipulate quietly, and stay hidden as long as possible.

Nothing has changed, they just hide better now.

Seeing Clearly Again

The point of all this isn’t to chase shadows or obsess over hidden enemies. The serpent wins when we do that. Fear has never been a fruit of the Spirit. But, ignorance isn’t either.

From the garden to now, deception has always depended on remaining unseen. That’s why Scripture constantly talks about eyes to see and ears to hear. Nothing new is being revealed. Something old is being remembered.

What some modern voices try to explain with theories and symbols, the Bible explains with clarity. There is a spiritual battle and it operates beneath the surface.

The answer isn’t better conspiracies, it’s better discernment.

Adam didn’t lose the garden because he lacked information. He lost it because he trusted the wrong voice. And, we face the same choice every day—who we listen to, what we believe, and whether we test what sounds convincing against the truth God already gave us.

The serpent hasn’t changed his nature, he’s just learned how to blend in.

Which means the call hasn’t changed either.

Wake up, stay grounded, and keep your eyes fixed on Christ—the only One who exposes deception without becoming consumed by it.

Because when you see clearly, the disguise doesn’t work anymore.

Genesis 2:18—“Then the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone.”

Honest writing moment: I’m lonely.

And before anyone jumps in with the “oh no, here comes a sad post”—this isn’t that.
This isn’t a woe-is-me thing.
I’m genuinely lonely.

Which is strange, honestly, because I’m married with children so there is always noise in my house.

And still—I feel isolated. Why is that?

Has anyone else ever stopped and thought this?
Or is this just my anxiety-riddled brain doing what it does best—assuming the worst and calling it reality?

Maybe. And I may be overthinking (my brain is really good at that!), but the numbers don’t lie.

According to several sources, I’m not alone.
(No pun intended.)

Loneliness by the numbers:

Nearly 1 in 2 adults report feeling lonely on a regular basis.
(U.S. Surgeon General, 2023)

Loneliness increases the risk of premature death by 26–29%—
roughly the same impact as smoking 15 cigarettes a day.
(Harvard School of Public Health)

One in two adults. Let that sit for a second.

So maybe this feeling isn’t as far-fetched as it seems.
Maybe it’s not just me spiraling in my own head.

And maybe—quietly—you feel this way too.

The Silence Nobody Talks About

Some people dont realize how lonely adulthood can be.

No one really checks in on you anymore and you stop getting the random phone calls to see how you’re doing.

I don’t think people are trying to be mean. I really don’t. But, everyone is tired, guarded, and surviving. It’s sad. We’ve become so busy with ourselves that we have forgot what being human is.

Have you tried to make friends lately? It’s absolutely exhausting. It is emotional labor now and trying to make connections isn’t supposed to feel this way.

Everyone tries to open up a little, test the waters—but then somewhere deep down you’re already calculating the cost if it falls apart.

Then comes the part where we just stop trying. And its not on purpose necessarily—you just need to slow down. And before you know it, isolation creeps in wearing the disguise of peace.

Trust Is Expensive Now

We live in a time where everyone is cautious and nobody trusts easily.
Everyone has been burned and we’re all somewhat damaged.

So, instead of finding connection we settle for distance.
Instead of showing up, we scroll.
Instead of calling, we assume someone else will.

And the body pays the price.

Loneliness doesn’t just affect emotions.
It also affects:

• Sleep.

• Stress.

• Life expectancy.

There’s a reason people are breaking down quietly.

God Didn’t Design This

From the very beginning, God said something wasn’t right.

“It is not good for man to be alone.”

It wasn't restricted to just marriage. It also meant:

• Community.

• Presence.

• Shared life.

Even Jesus — surrounded by crowds — felt the weight of being left alone. He asked His closest friends to stay with Him and they fell asleep.

Loneliness isn’t new.
But it was never the goal.

When the Phone Stays Silent

There’s something humbling about realizing the only person who checks on you consistently is your spouse, coworkers, or parents.

You’re grateful—But there’s still a quiet ache for friendship that feels effortless.
That ache doesn’t mean you’re ungrateful, It just means you’re human and pretending it doesn’t exist doesn’t make it go away.

My Final Thoughts

This world has made connection complicated and I hate it.

I remember the days when people sat down and talked…for HOURS. I remember Sunday dinners at grandmothers where everyone just enjoyed each other’s presence. And, I remember a time when having casual conversation was normal, not something you ran away from.

I don’t believe for a second this is how God intended for us to live—unseen, unheard, and unchecked on. He wanted us to have community, friendships, and connection.

So yeah. I’m lonely. But, at least when people don’t call, God still does.

I’m a Christian—and I’m running out of f**ks to give.

Yep. I said it.
And no, I don’t care.

Honest confession:

Somewhere along the way, I started worrying more about metrics and numbers than I did actually ministering to the subscribers and followers I already had.

Yeah.
That was dumb.

When you lose sight of the mission, everything gets heavy. Fast.
And when you treat it like that, the work becomes hollow.

So yeah, I’m tired.

And I don’t mean burnt out or discouraged.
Just done pretending.

Here’s what I mean: the performance. I’m finished with it. Completely.

You know the story in the Bible where Cain brings God a sacrifice and it gets rejected?

Yeah.
That’s this.

I’m Cain in that moment—not Abel.
And the unacceptable sacrifice isn’t crops or blood.
It’s obsession with Substack growth, numbers, and validation dressed up as faithfulness.

It looks spiritual and sounds disciplined—But it misses the heart entirely.

And that’s the rot underneath the Christian internet:
Acting holy while playing the same money games as everyone else.

I’m done offering sacrifices God never asked for.

Look—I’m not anti-paying writers.
I’m anti-lying.

Let’s stop pretending this is all ministry:

• Outrage converts.
  

• Fear sells.
  

• Conviction packaged just right keeps people subscribed.

Truth doesn’t need funnels and the Holy Spirit doesn’t need a sales page.

When the gospel becomes a product, something’s already broken.

Bought Audiences and Empty Rooms

Here’s the quiet part nobody likes saying.

Some Christian influencers didn’t grow an audience.
They bought one.

Thousands of subscribers and clean profiles but almost no engagement.

Two likes.
One comment.
Silence.

Jesus never measured fruit by numbers.
We do.

And it shows.

“Let’s Collaborate”… Until You’re Smaller Than Me

Collaboration?
Yeah. That’s funny.

Everyone loves collaboration—
until their subscriber count passes yours.

Then suddenly:

• Messages stop getting answered
• “Brotherhood” turns into silence
• You’re beneath them now

If collaboration is based on metrics instead of faithfulness, it’s not ministry.
It’s networking.

Jesus didn’t choose disciples based on reach.

Who Christian Influencers Actually Support (Quietly)

Here’s another truth that exposed the whole game for me.

You know who many Christian influencers are quietly supporting?

Not other Christian influencers.
Not Christian entrepreneurs.
Definitely not the smaller guys trying to build something honest.

They’re paying for secular influencers.

Paid subscriptions.
Private newsletters.
Big-name thinkers with clout.

And look—there’s nothing wrong with learning from secular voices.
That’s not the issue.

The issue is this:

They’ll financially support secular creators with big names…
while ignoring faithful Christian voices doing the same work—
because there’s no brand upside.

Christian entrepreneurs? Naahhh
Too small.
Too risky.
No leverage.

So the money flows upward to power, not sideways to brothers.

This is not discernment.
It’s self-preservation.

Biblical Masculinity Became a Business

The “biblical man” movement didn’t escape this either.

Masculinity got branded, packaged, and sold.

Jesus didn’t build men by inflating their ego.
He crucified it.

Biblical manhood isn’t loud.
It’s obedient and it doesn't need an audience, just a prayer closet.

Jesus washed feet—He didn’t build a brand.

Jesus Wouldn’t Be Dining With Christian Influencers

Here’s the irony nobody wants to face.

If Jesus showed up today, He wouldn’t be sitting at a podcast table with Christian influencers debating theology for engagement.

He’d be eating dinner with entrepreneurs….even the money-hungry ones.

Why? Because they’re honest.

Jesus didn’t rebuke people for wanting money.
He rebuked people for loving money while pretending to love God.

Tax collectors knew what they were about.
Pharisees hid greed behind Scripture.

Jesus could work with honesty.
He always has.

I’m Not Walking Away — I’m Stripping It Down

I still love Jesus. Maybe more than ever.

I just don’t love the machine built around Him.

I’m done pretending numbers equal fruit.
Done confusing silence with wisdom.
Done mistaking platforms for authority.

If that costs me followers, fine.
If it costs me loss of subscribers, so be it.

Jesus didn’t promise a platform.
He promised a cross.

Lets say the quiet part out loud: Some Churches are run like a business….not a Church (que Jesus running in with the whip).

But seriously.

Ever walked into a church and thought, “Wow… this feels impressive”—but not once thought, “God is holy”?

Everything looks absolutely stunning. Has all the bells and whistles. Checks all the boxes:

✔ Clean stage

✔ Perfect lighting

✔ Fonts doing whatever fonts do

✔ Everyone smiling like they were trained for it

✔ The sermon tight

✔ The worship flawless

✔ The whole thing running smoother than an iPhone launch

And yet… something’s missing. So what am I talking about?

Church fluff.
A lot of noise with very little weight…and we act surprised when the seats are empty.

People aren’t confused. They aren’t “deconstructing” because it’s trendy. And, they aren’t scared off by culture or politics. They just recognize performance when they see it—trust me, they want no part of it.

On the outside, everything shines. The building looks sharp. The staff is polished. The coffee is genuinely good. But once you sit with it for a bit, something feels off.

It’s shallow.

Not evil or malicious…..just carefully managed and emotionally safe. There’s no tension, cost, or call to die to yourself.

People don’t reject church because it’s demanding.
They walk away because it feels staged.

And nothing kills hunger for truth faster than watching it be played like a role on Sunday morning.

Eden Didn’t Look Evil Either

The first temptation in the Bible wasn’t ugly. That’s important.

The forbidden fruit in Eden didn’t come wrapped in darkness. Scripture says it was pleasant to the eyes, good for food, and desirable to make one wise. It looked like an upgrade. Like progress. Like a smart move. Sound familiar?

Eve didn’t bite rebellion.
She bit presentation.

That’s how deception works. It doesn’t scream “Disobey God.”
It whispers, “This is better.”

Fast forward a few thousand years, and we’ve got churches doing the same thing. Repackaging obedience, softening truth, and making the gospel more…marketable.

Still Christian. Just shinier.

When the Church Starts Acting Like Apple

Apple doesn’t sell phones. They sell identity, belonging, and desire. The promise that your life will be better if you buy in.

That’s fine for tech.

It’s dangerous for the Church.

Because when a church starts prioritizing:

• optics over obedience

• vibes over repentance

• branding over brokenness

You’re not shepherding souls anymore.
You’re managing perception.

And the scariest part? It works. For a while.

Gen Z Isn’t Leaving Jesus — They’re Leaving the Show

Here’s the thing nobody wants to admit.

Gen Z isn’t walking away from Jesus because He’s too demanding. They’re walking away because the Church feels fake. They can smell performance a mile away.

They grew up with filters, influencers, and algorithms. They know what curated looks like. And when they peek through the stained-glass windows and see Christians pretending instead of repenting, they don’t think, “I want that.”

They think, “If that’s Christianity, I’m good.”

Jesus doesn’t repel them — the hypocrisy does.

The Most Dangerous Christian Isn’t the Loud Sinner

This part will sting.

God doesn’t hate people—but He does hate hypocrisy. Jesus saved His harshest words for religious actors. Not pagans, outsiders, or pretenders.

Why?

Because a fake Christian does what the devil can’t.

The devil tempts from the outside.
A fake Christian poisons from the inside.

By playing church.
By wearing the label without the life.
By talking Jesus but living untouched.

They turn the world off to Christ without ever preaching a false sermon. People look at them and say:

“If that’s a Christian, I’m glad I’m not one.”

And hey — we’ve all been there (myself included) so this isn’t persecution. It’s indictment.

Performance Can’t Replace Power

You can dim the lights, cue the bridge and tighten the transitions. But, you can’t manufacture conviction, script repentance, and brand the Holy Spirit.

The Church was never meant to look impressive.
It was meant to look alive.

Messy. Honest. Holy.

The early church never had a logo.
They had power.

But today? 👇

“Having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people.”

A Hard Question Worth Asking

So yeah—if your church feels like Apple, that’s a problem.

Because the fruit in Eden looked good too.
And it still led to death.

The question isn’t, “Does this work?”
The question is, “Is this faithful?”

Because Jesus didn’t say the world would know us by our excellence.
He said they’d know us by our love—and love doesn’t fake it.

If the Church wants the next generation to listen again, it won’t be through better branding.

It’ll be through repentance, humility, and Christians who actually live like Jesus is real.

No filter, performance, or forbidden fruit.

Just truth.

It’s 2026 and people trust screens more than people.

But sure—let’s pretend that’s just a technology issue.

People don’t talk to screens because they love technology. They do it because screens don’t interrupt, judge, or rush them to be “fine.”

Wild concept. But not really if you think about it….

Because screens don’t say things like,
“Others have it worse,”
or
“Just be grateful.”

They don’t get awkward when the conversation gets heavy or change the subject.
They just… stay.

Which is interesting.
And maybe a little telling.

Somewhere along the way, conversations stopped feeling safe.

Not loud unsafe.
Just… cold.

People listen less, fix faster, and flinch when things get honest.

So we learn to edit ourselves.

We say, “I’m good,” even when that’s not true at all and then we’re surprised when people take their honesty elsewhere.

Jesus actually warned us about this.

“And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.” — Matthew 24:12

That verse always sounded dramatic to me. End-times language. Big stuff.

But lately?
It feels painfully ordinary.

Cold doesn’t always look like hate.
Sometimes it just looks like indifference.

Like being rushed or unheard.

And when love cools down, people don’t stop needing connection.
They just start looking for it in quieter places…like screens.

Why Screens Feel Safer

Screens don’t require you to perform.
They don’t demand you clean up the story or punish you for saying the wrong thing.

There’s no eye-roll.
No awkward silence.
No quick spiritual cliché tossed over real pain.

And for someone carrying shame, regret, or confusion, that matters more than we realize.

It’s not that people trust technology more than humans, It’s just that they trust being heard.

What This Says About Us

This isn’t a post against people opening up online.

It’s a mirror.

Maybe the real question isn’t why people confide in screens.

Maybe it’s why honesty feels so risky everywhere else.

Because if love is growing cold, the answer isn’t louder opinions or quicker fixes.

It’s warmer presence.
Slower listening.
And learning how to stay when conversations get uncomfortable.

That’s where healing usually starts anyway.

Nobody wakes up and decides, “I think I’ll drift from God today.”
Spiritual drift is a lot slower and quieter than that.

You skip church once because you’re tired and then the prayers become shorter.
The Bible stays closed—and it’s not you being rebellious. More like…neglectful.

You know in a marriage when the wife asks you to do the dishes but you don’t? Yea, it’s kind of like that.

Over time, something in you changes.

The worship feels awkward.
Sermons feel uncomfortable.
And anything about God starts to irritate you instead of draw you in.

That’s where spiritual drift and demonic oppression often begin—with distance. The enemy rarely pushes. He pulls, little by little, until resistance feels normal.

You’re not suddenly far from God.
You’ve just been slowly moving away.

And the way back isn’t more effort or better discipline.
It’s confession and reconciliation—bringing hidden sin, unspoken bitterness, and quiet compromise into the light.

Because spiritual drift left unchecked doesn’t stay drift.
It becomes direction.

Here’s what often shows up next.

You start convincing yourself church people are fake.
Prayer feels pointless.
Conviction feels annoying instead of helpful.
Isolation starts sounding like peace.

Unconfessed sin, unresolved bitterness, and broken relationships create just enough space for darkness to settle in. And the longer it stays hidden, the more normal it feels.

You don’t feel attacked.
You feel numb.

And numbness is one of the enemy’s favorite tools.

Why Confession Changes Everything

Here’s the part most people avoid.

When prayer annoys you, it’s often because something needs to be confessed.
If church feels unbearable, reconciliation is usually overdue.

Confession isn’t about shame.
It’s about exposure.

Darkness can’t survive honesty. The moment you stop pretending and say, “Lord, here’s what I’ve been avoiding,” something shifts. It’s not always instant like your coffee. But, Its slow and steady. Rooted.

Eventually the fog will start thinning and the weight will ease.
The irritation will lose its grip.

Confession isn’t mean to be shameful. This is you getting right with God and walking that Narrow Path again.

It’s spiritual warfare and you’re in the fight buddy. Willing or unwilling.

Reconciliation Is Spiritual Oxygen

Sometimes the issue isn’t just between you and God.

Sometimes it’s a broken relationship.

Reconciliation doesn’t always mean full restoration. But it does mean obedience. And obedience clears the air in ways nothing else can.

You don’t fight oppression by trying harder.
You fight it by bringing things into the light.

If This Feels Uncomfortably Familiar

Lean in.

That irritation might not be rejection.

You don’t have to believe in Jesus to feel something at Christmas.
And if that’s confusing, you’re not alone. Every year, people who haven’t prayed in months—maybe years—feel a quiet pull they can’t explain. It shows up in candlelight, old songs, and a strange ache that feels bigger than nostalgia.

So why does Christmas keep reaching people who aren’t even sure what they believe?

Here’s something we don’t talk about much:

The first people who met Jesus weren’t searching for God.

They were shepherds—working the night shift, doing the same thing they did every other night. Just another cold, ordinary evening.

And then Heaven interrupted them.

That detail matters. Because Christmas doesn’t begin with belief. It begins with God showing up where people already are.

A lot of us assume faith starts when someone finally has it all figured out. We say the right words and have that certain level of assurance. But the Christmas story quietly says the opposite. God steps into the dark first. Understanding comes later.

That might explain why Christmas still stirs something in people who aren’t sure what they believe.

Maybe it’s not about belief at all.
Perhaps it’s about recognition?

Something in us remembers what peace feels like. We all know we were made for more than noise, survival, and scrolling until the night runs out. When Christmas arrives, it presses gently on that place.

And, it’s quiet. Just enough to be noticed.

And here’s the part that’s easy to miss:

Being found often feels like being interrupted.

The shepherds didn’t ask for angels. God simply stepped into their ordinary night and said, “This is for you.” That’s still how it works. For seekers and skeptics alike. The people who wouldn’t even use the word “faith” to describe themselves.

Christmas isn’t God waiting for you to reach Him.
It’s God coming close first.

So if you feel drawn this Christmas Eve—and you don’t fully know why—that’s okay. You don’t need polished beliefs or rehearsed prayers. You don’t even need certainty. Sometimes the first step isn’t believing. It’s simply noticing that you might already be known.

And maybe… already being found.

This is certainly true for me.
I don’t jump into spiritual conversations.

In fact…I go quiet.

I’m not angry at God or unbelieving.
Just… silent.

And if you’ve ever wondered why faith feels harder to talk about when your mind is heavy, you’re not broken. You’re human.

When Depression Shows Up, Words Disappear

Depression doesn’t usually announce itself with fireworks.
It creeps in quietly.
And suddenly, talking about Jesus feels… complicated.

You start thinking things like:

• Who am I to talk about hope when I feel empty?

• What if people see my faith as fake?

• What if I say the wrong thing because my mind isn’t right?

So instead of speaking, you retreat.

This is where a lot of Christians get stuck—especially those searching online for things like Christian depression, faith and mental health, or why God feels distant when I’m depressed. The silence feels safer than explaining a faith that feels fragile.

Depression Doesn’t Erase Faith—It Redirects It

Here’s the part that surprised me.

Even when I wasn’t talking about Jesus, I was still clinging to Him.

Depression didn’t kill my faith.
It compressed it.

Like pressure pushing everything inward.

There’s something strange that happens in suffering. Faith stops being loud and starts becoming heavy. Almost like it’s being reshaped instead of removed.

I think of it like a map—not the kind you hang on a wall, but the kind etched by experience. Pain highlights certain areas. Suffering darkens others. And slowly, without you realizing it, the shape of belief changes.

Not weaker.
More costly.

Why Silence Feels Safer Than Testimony

When you’re depressed, your inner world already feels exposed. Talking about Jesus can feel like putting a spotlight on a wound that hasn’t scabbed over yet.

You’re not hiding Christ.
You’re protecting something precious.

That’s why shame often sneaks in.

Real Christians should be joyful.
Strong believers shouldn’t struggle like this.

Those lies keep people searching for answers late at night, typing things like depression and faith silence or why I stopped sharing my faith.

The truth? Silence during suffering isn’t failure. It’s often survival.

Suffering Gives Faith Weight, Not Weakness

We don’t talk enough about this.

Faith formed in comfort sounds different than faith formed in pain.

One is easy to explain.
The other is hard-earned.

There’s a reason people who’ve suffered don’t rush into spiritual debates. They’ve learned that faith isn’t a slogan—it’s a lifeline.

Suffering teaches discernment.
It teaches restraint.
And that belief? Isn’t always meant to be broadcast—it’s sometimes meant to be carried.

Faith becomes something you hold close, not something you wave around.

What Helped Me Find Words Again

I didn’t force myself to speak about Jesus when I wasn’t ready.

I let silence do its work.

Over time, something shifted. Not suddenly…. But slowly. Like light creeping back into a room you forgot had windows.

I realized this:

Faith doesn’t need volume to be real.
It needs roots.

And sometimes depression is where those roots go deeper than you ever planned.

If You’re Quiet Right Now, Hear This

If you believe but don’t speak much anymore…or depression has muted your confidence…

You’re not abandoning Jesus.

Just simply learning what faith costs when it’s tested by suffering.

And that kind of faith?
Is NOT shallow OR weak.

You ever walk into church and feel lonely before you even sit down?
You shake a few hands, smile like you rehearsed it in the car, nod at the usual folks… and somehow the whole thing still feels hollow? Almost like your heart stayed in the parking lot, leaning against your car, waiting for you to come back out?

Well my friend, I’ve been there more times than I want to admit.
It’s that weird “crowded-but-alone” feeling — the kind that settles in quietly, like it knows the routine better than you do. You can be sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with twenty believers, singing the same song, reading the same verse… and still feel like you’re the only person in the building who doesn’t quite fit.

And you tell yourself, “Don’t be dramatic. You’re fine. Everyone else is fine. This is normal.”
But deep down? Something in you whispers, “Why do I feel like I’m invisible in a place where I’m supposed to belong?”

If you said that out loud, half the church would probably nod with you.
The other half would look at the floor because they’ve felt it too — they just never had the courage (or maybe the freedom) to say it.

Phhhewww…..there’s something nobody mentions out-loud. Weird isn’t it? We all feel it, yet we never talk about it.

Well, we are today. Oh, and don’t worry. This wont be your typical Sunday sermon.

Give As You Feel Led

Church loneliness is weird.
It’s not the same as sitting at home by yourself on a Thursday night. It’s a different animal. It’s loneliness with an audience. Loneliness in a room full of Bibles and coffee cups and people who say “brother” and “sister,” and you’re sitting there thinking, I don’t know if anyone here actually knows me.

And that’s tough because you want to belong.
You’re doing the whole “show up, serve, be faithful” thing.
But something still feels disconnected.

For a while, I thought I was the only one who felt that way.
Then I started actually listening to people. Not the small talk — the stuff that sneaks out when someone lets their guard down.

“I don’t know how to make friends here.”
“I feel like I don’t fit the mold.”
“Everyone already has their circle.”
“I love this church… I just don’t feel close to anyone.”
“I don’t think anyone would notice if I didn’t show up.”

It surprised me at first.
Then it didn’t.
Because I had said versions of the same things in my own mind for years.

We all assume we’re the only isolated person in the room, but the truth?
Most churches are full of invisible people.

Not invisible because the church is bad or uncaring.
Invisible because life gets busy, people get tired, and it’s easier to slide into routine than relationship.

And once you’re on the outside of a routine, it’s hard to break in.

How We Learned to Wear the Mask

Here’s something strange: Christians learn how to mask loneliness without even meaning to.

You learn how to smile and say all the right things like “I’m doing good” even when you’re falling apart in five different ways.

You learn how to hide your questions because you don’t want to sound weak or less mature and how to keep your story small because you’re not sure anyone has space for the whole thing.

And honestly, church culture can accidentally make this worse.

I’m not saying people are fake — but they’re busy. People are comfortable and they’re nervous to be the first one to say, “Hey, I’m struggling.”

Everyone’s waiting for someone else to take the risk.

But loneliness grows in silence.
And silence grows when you think you’re the only one feeling it.

The Moment You Start Feeling Like a Ghost

There’s a point where loneliness shifts.

It goes from “I don’t know people very well”
to
“I don’t think anyone sees me.”

That’s when you start feeling like a ghost in your own church.

And you wonder if anything inside you changed.

You wonder if God is the only one who actually sees you.

And maybe that last part is true — maybe He is the one who sees you.
But that doesn’t erase the ache.
Because God created the church to be a body, a family, a home… not a place where you wander in and out like a stranger renting a seat for an hour.

I think the enemy knows that.
He loves to whisper lies into the quiet moments:

“You’re not needed.”
“You don’t have anything to offer.”
“No one would care if you stopped trying.”

And some days?
Those lies feel believable.

Especially when you’re already tired.

Why So Many Christians Feel Isolated (But Don’t Say Anything)

There are a lot of reasons this happens, and none of them make you defective.

✔ Reason 1: You’ve changed, but your church relationships haven’t.

Growth can feel lonely when the people around you haven’t seen it.

✔ Reason 2: You’ve been hurt before.

Maybe by a friend or leadership.

Hurt makes you cautious.
Cautious makes you quiet.
Quiet makes you isolated.

✔ Reason 3: You don’t fit the “expected” mold.

Every church has its own culture — its own unwritten rules.

Some folks fit right in.
Others feel like their life story came from a different planet.

✔ Reason 4: The fear of being judged.

Even if the church isn’t judgmental, the fear of judgment can wall you off.

✔ Reason 5: Everyone else already has their people.

Or so it looks.
Truth is, many of them feel just as disconnected — they’ve just learned how to hide it.

✔ Reason 6: You assume everyone else is doing better than you.

So you stay quiet.
And they stay quiet.
And everyone ends up lonely together.

Funny how that works.

The God Who Notices the Invisible People

If there’s one thing I’ve learned the hard way, it’s this:

God specializes in seeing people who feel unseen.

The Bible is full of them —
Hagar in the wilderness,
Hannah praying alone,
David hiding in caves,
Elijah under a broom tree,
the woman at the well,
the leper nobody touched,
the blind man people told to shut up,
the disciples who felt like failures,
and the thief dying beside Jesus.

God didn’t skip over lonely people.
He went right to them.

There’s this moment when Hagar calls God “the God who sees me.”
And I hold onto that, because sometimes that’s the only thing that keeps you going.

Loneliness doesn’t mean God forgot you.
It means He’s preparing you to see Him in a deeper way.

The Ache for Being Known

Humans are simple in some ways.
We don’t need much.
Just a place to belong.
A person who listens or a hand on the shoulder sometimes.
“Hey, you okay?” that’s asked with real curiosity, not church politeness.

We want to be known — not by everyone, but at least by someone.

God designed us that way.

You see this in Genesis.
God looked at a perfect world — no sin, no shame, no division — and still said:

“It is not good for man to be alone.”

If loneliness wasn’t good in paradise, it sure isn’t good now.

And yet here we are, a whole world of people aching to be known, sitting in buildings full of believers who also want the same thing… and somehow missing each other.

But loneliness is not a dead end.
It’s a signal.
A whisper from your soul saying, You were made for connection.

And that’s where Jesus steps in.

Jesus Never Ignored Lonely People

Watch Him in the gospels.

He didn’t hang out with the people who had perfect social circles.

He looked for the ones sitting alone.

The outcasts.

He walked straight up to the lonely and said,
“Follow Me.”
“Come sit with Me.”
“Let’s eat together.”
“You belong with Me.”

And everyone else was shocked.

Because in their world — just like ours — lonely people were easy to overlook.

But Jesus didn’t. He saw them and he sees you. You are not alone. He loves you more than you could ever know.

Your Loneliness Might Be a Sign of Calling

This might surprise you.

Sometimes the ache you feel in church isn’t a punishment but a gentle push from God. Think about it.

It might just be a sign that maybe you’re not meant to sit quietly on the sidelines.

Your loneliness may be the beginning of ministry.

You might be feeling the ache because God is asking you to be the person who sees others.

The person who notices the quiet folks.
The one who says hello first.
The one who asks the awkward but needed question:
“Hey, you doing okay?”

You don’t need a title to do that, you just need to care.

Some of the most effective ministers in history weren’t pastors — they were people who saw strangers and treated them like family.

Loneliness can sharpen your heart for people who feel the same way.

Sometimes the hurt you carry ends up being the doorway for someone else’s healing.

When You Feel Invisible, Here’s What Actually Helps

I’m not going to give you cheesy advice.
Nobody needs that.

Here’s what actually moves things forward:

1. Talk to God like you actually feel

Not the filtered version.
The raw one.

“Lord, I feel unseen.”
“I feel out of place.”
“I don’t know how to connect with people.”
“I feel like I’m walking alone.”

He hears that kind of honesty.

2. Notice one person

Not the whole church.
Just one.

The person in the back.
The one by the wall.
The one who looks tired.
The one who slips out fast.

That’s your mission field.

3. Stop assuming everyone else is fully connected

You’d be shocked how many lonely people lead ministries.
They’re just tired of saying it out loud.

4. Give someone else the thing you’re craving

Encouragement.
Attention.
A few minutes of being seen.

You’d be surprised how healing that becomes for you too.

5. Keep showing up

Connection takes time.
Circles don’t open overnight.
But faithfulness breaks walls.

You’re Not Invisible — You’re Early

Sometimes loneliness means you’re not behind… you’re early.

God often moves people before He moves their surroundings.
He prepares hearts before He opens doors.
He stirs discomfort before He gives direction.

You might feel disconnected because God is shifting you toward something deeper.

God never wastes longing.
He doesn’t ignores loneliness.
Certainly never shrugs off tears shed in church parking lots.

You’re being shaped, prepared, and softened for something bigger than you think.

And one day — not today maybe, but one day — you’ll find yourself sitting beside someone who feels exactly how you feel right now.

And you’ll say the words someone should’ve said to you:

“I see you.”

The Good News? Loneliness Doesn’t Win

Loneliness is loud but the King is louder.

He doesn’t leave you in the back row.

God never says, “I missed you. Didn’t see you standing there.”

He’s the Shepherd who notices the one sheep standing off by itself.
The Father who runs toward you before you ever say a word.
The Savior who sits with the outcast until they feel safe again.

You may feel invisible in church, but you’re fully seen in the Kingdom.

And eventually — with time, prayer, patience, courage, and maybe a few awkward conversations — you’ll find people who see you too.

That’s how He works.
Quietly and faithfuilly

Final Thoughts (The Kind You Think About on the Drive Home)

If I could sit with you across a table right now — coffee, sweet tea, whatever we’ve got — I’d tell you this:

You’re not weird for feeling lonely at church.

You’re human.
That’s all.

We all want to be known.
And, we want to walk into church and feel like the room breathes a little easier because we showed up.

And I believe — even if you don’t see it yet — that God is leading you toward people who will feel like home.

Let Him see you, fill the empty places and shape your heart into the kind that notices others.

Because nothing looks more like Jesus than a believer who sees the invisible people.

And maybe — just maybe — that’s why you feel this ache in the first place.

The Signs You’re Addicted to Chaos (Don’t Panic — We All Are)

Here’s where you’re probably going to feel exposed — in a good way.

These are the signs your brain has gotten hooked on noise:

1. Silence makes you uncomfortable.

Not a full chapter — just something solid.

A verse.
A sentence.
A line that reminds your mind what matters.

3. Use your phone on purpose, not autopilot.

Open what you meant to open.
Don’t wander.

If wandering is how you get lost mentally, then wandering online won’t help you.

4. Create a “no phone” zone.

The couch.
The dinner table.
The bedroom.

Your phone doesn’t judge you. It just records everything silently like a loyal FBI agent.

We tell people, “I’m being discipled by my church,” but if someone actually pulled the receipts on your screen time… yeah, no. You’re being discipled by your For You Page, your notifications, your browser history, and whatever chaos pops up between 11pm and “I really should be asleep by now.”

And look — you’re not alone because this is all of us.
We don’t have “the world in our pocket.”
We have a spiritual ambush portal with unlimited data.

This isn’t a “phones are evil” article. More like a “can we stop acting like our phone habits don’t shape our faith?” article.

Because they do. More than anything else in your life.

Who talks to you more — God or your notifications?

Let me introduce you to the most dangerous youth pastor in the world:
the algorithm.

The algorithm doesn’t care about your purity.
It cares about one thing and one thing only:
keeping your eyeballs on the screen.

And it will use ANYTHING to do it.

You watched one harmless gym video?
Enjoy the avalanche of thirst traps.

What about one sarcastic relationship meme?
Great — here’s a hundred more, plus a sprinkle of bitterness from people who haven’t healed since 2014.

We treat temptation like it’s random, but it’s not random — it’s engineered.

When Paul wrote about “the schemes of the devil,” he didn’t have an iPhone in mind, but let’s be honest… he could’ve.

The enemy doesn’t need to knock on your front door anymore.
He just needs you to unlock your phone.

The Internet Has One Goal: Keep You Addicted to Stimulation

Do you know how many apps are designed to help you focus?
Pretty much none.

But do you know how many apps are designed to steal your focus?
All of them.

Every notification is saying:
“Hey, stop thinking about God.”
“Come back to the chaos.”

Your phone may seem neutral, It’s definitely not. It robs you of your time and steals your identity.

And the scary part?
Your brain LOVES it.

Your brain is like a toddler in Walmart — grabbing anything colorful, sugary, or loud. If it’s distracting, stimulating, or emotionally convenient, your brain is all over it.

This is why people fall into sin late at night:
Temptation isn’t strongest at night — boredom is.

When your mind wanders, your phone jumps in like:
“Hey, want to ruin your testimony real quick?”

We treat our phones like tools, but they’re more like weapons.
And most of us are out here sword-fighting spiritually without even knowing we’re holding a blade.

The Lie Your Phone Loves Telling You: “This Doesn’t Affect You Spiritually”

This is the biggest lie in the digital world.

We’ll watch something questionable and say:
“It’s not that big of a deal.”

We’ll scroll for two hours and say:
“It didn’t hurt anybody.”

We’ll waste a full evening on nonsense and say:
“Whatever. I’ll do better tomorrow.”

But the truth of the matter is:
Small spiritual compromises add up faster than you think.

Small compromises don’t stay tiny. They stack up, turn into habits, and eventually start driving your life like they’re paying rent.

And don’t kid yourself — your online choices are part of that. The content you keep going back to changes how you think. The stuff you linger on changes what you want. The things you laugh at or crave or argue about start digging their way into your character.

This is why Jesus didn’t say, “Guard your browser history.”
He said, “Guard your heart.”
Because the stuff you keep letting in eventually lives there.

And your phone has key access.

Let’s Talk About Lust (Because Your Phone Definitely Is)

Look, we’re adults here.
We all know the elephant in the room: most temptation today shows up on a screen.

And, It’s not because technology is some evil villain lurking in the shadows - no - It’s because it delivers temptation faster than your brain can register what’s happening. What used to take planning now takes two bored thumbs and a weak moment.

You don’t even have to go looking for it anymore. It shows up in your feed, slips into your explore page, or pops up the minute you stay up too late. Half the time, you don’t find temptation — it finds you.

And here’s what people overlook: lust isn’t just about the content. It’s about how easily you can reach it. That’s the real danger. Instant access. Zero friction. Total privacy.

Lust grows in easy access.
Shame grows in silence.
Your phone gives you both without even asking your permission.

And if you don’t set boundaries around it, your phone will keep negotiating with your purity like it’s trying to close a sales deal.

You’re not weak for being tempted.
But avoiding boundaries around the thing that tempts you most?
That’s where the real trouble starts.

Your Phone Is a Discipleship Device — Whether You Like It or Not

Think about it:

• You check it when you wake up.

• You check it before bed.

• You check it when you’re happy.

• You check it when you’re sad.

• You check it when you’re lonely.

• You check it when you’re bored.

• You check it at red lights even though you swear you don’t.

Your phone doesn’t just sit in your hand—it molds you.
It nudges your emotions, pulls at your attention, stirs up your wants, and even rewires how you think when the room finally gets quiet.

What else in your life has that much influence?

Not your pastor.
Not your worship playlist.
Not that quiet time you squeeze in once a week.
Not the devotional app you tap on every third Saturday.

Your phone is your primary discipler.

The question is:
what kind of Christian is it discipling you to be?

How to Have a Holy Phone (Without Becoming a Weird Hermit)

Okay, now that I’ve roasted all of us equally, let’s get practical. And seriously, subscribe before your phone distracts you with something less holy. Now—here’s how to actually use your phone without letting it spiritually cook you alive.

1. Turn Off Every Non-Essential Notification

Your phone should not get to interrupt God.
Or your thoughts.
Or your peace.

2. Keep Temptation One Layer Away

Delete apps that keep handing you sin on a silver platter.
Yes, delete them.
You know which ones.

3. Keep Your Phone Out of the Bedroom

Nothing spiritually helpful happens on a phone in bed at midnight.
Absolutely nothing.

4. Use Your Bible App More Than Your Social Media Apps

If your “YouVersion Streak” is lower than your “TikTok Screen Time”… yeah.

5. Set a 10 PM Phone Curfew

Your worst decisions happen after this time.
I don’t need data.
We all know it.

6. Get Accountability Software

You’re not being weak. You’re being smart. Practical. Rational.

Truple is what I use (No, I don’t get paid for this).

7. Treat Your Phone Like a Tool — Not a Lifeline

Tools help you.
Lifelines own you.

8. Don’t Scroll Without Purpose

Scrolling without purpose becomes scrolling with temptation.

9. Replace Digital Noise With Silence

Your soul needs quiet more than it needs content.

10. Give God Your Attention Before Your Phone Gets It

This single habit will change your entire faith life.

Conclusion: Your Phone Isn’t the Enemy — Your Passivity Is

Your phone is strong enough to help your faith or quietly sabotage it. It can point you toward God or pull you off track, depending on how you use it.

The problem isn’t the device.
It’s how much influence you hand over to it.

And that part?
That’s on you.

Your phone only shapes your spiritual life if you let it. You’re still the one holding it. You’re still the one choosing what gets in. You’re still the one deciding whether it leads you closer to God or distracts you from Him.

God’s not pacing heaven, stressed about your screen time. He just wants to be part of the spaces where you spend your attention.

Remember: this isn’t about shame — it’s about responsibility. It’s realizing your digital habits and your spiritual habits are tied together, whether you admit it or not.

Your pastor gets a sliver of your week.
Your phone gets the whole thing.

So be intentional. Make sure the thing that has your attention also has your surrender.

Because here’s the truth: your phone will disciple you. You just have to decide what direction it’s pushing you in.

Some questions don’t show up in the daylight.
They wait until everything is quiet — when the kids are asleep, the phone is charging, and the house creaks like it’s thinking about old memories. That’s when this one slips in:

“Is all this… effort I’m giving God making up for the sins nobody knows about?”

If you’ve ever wondered that, you’re in familiar company. Most believers won’t say it out loud, but plenty have lived it inside. There’s a strange pressure that sits on the chest when you feel like your walk with God has become some kind of spiritual balancing act — good deed here, secret guilt there, and you’re hoping the scale tips to your favor by Sunday morning.

“You should probably deal with it,” you think to yourself. Yet, you don’t know where to begin.

I’ve been in that spot.
Maybe you have too.

And the thing about that place is… it’s quiet. Too quiet. It’s like standing in a church hallway after everyone has gone home. The lights are dim, the hum of the vending machine is louder than it should be, and you’re left alone with your thoughts — the uncomfortable ones.

So let’s talk about it. Slowly. Honestly. Without pretending.

At first, it feels good.
You read more.
You pray longer.
You volunteer for the thing nobody else wants to do.
You put on that “I’m okay, I’m blessed, and highly whatever” smile in the foyer.

But underneath… there’s this unsettled feeling.

The Secret Sins You Don’t Want to Call Sins

Let’s be honest — the word sin is heavier when it’s yours. When it’s someone else’s? Oh, it’s easy. “Well brother, Scripture clearly says—”
But when it’s yours? Suddenly you want a softer word. A “struggle.” A “weak area.” A “thorn.” Something that sounds less like rebellion and more like a mild inconvenience.

But deep down, you know.
It’s not harmless.
And calling it anything other than what it is doesn’t make it disappear.

Maybe your secret sin isn’t even “scandalous.”
Maybe it’s bitterness you won’t admit.
Maybe it’s anger you’ve learned to dress up.
Maybe it’s jealousy that sits quietly in the backseat and whispers every time someone else gets blessed.

Or maybe it’s something bigger — the kind of sin that makes your stomach twist when you think about it for too long.

Or even worse, “I’m too broken. I’m going to hell.”

That’s a gut punch isn’t it?

Whatever it is, it has one thing in common:

You’ve been trying to deal with it by out-performing it. You’re hoping effort can do what grace is supposed to do.

Where Performance Comes From

People don’t start performing for no reason.
It usually roots in one of three places — sometimes all three:

1. Shame

Shame is sneaky. It doesn’t yell. It whispers. It says things like:

• “God’s disappointed again.”

• “Fix this before you talk to Him.”

• “Don’t come into prayer looking like that.”

Shame pushes you to clean yourself up before walking into the house, even though the Father never asked for that. He just asked you to come home.

2. Fear

Fear makes you feel like God’s love is a temporary contract.
Mess up enough times, and you’re cut from the team.

Fear turns Christianity into a performance review — and suddenly you’re sweating your way through every spiritual “task,” hoping God stamps APPROVED at the end.

3. Pride

Nobody likes to admit this one.
But performance has a way of making you feel in control.

“If I do enough good, then I won’t have to face what’s broken.”

It’s a strange form of self-salvation — the kind that looks holy on paper but feels empty inside. Pride doesn’t always look loud. Sometimes it looks like a person who refuses to let God carry what they’re trying to hide.

This is where the article puts on sunglasses and says, “Access denied… unless you’re one of the cool kids.”

Why Secret Sins Feel Stronger at Night

You ever notice how your mind acts different after midnight?

The walls get thinner.
Your excuses get quieter.
Your thoughts get braver.

The things you pushed away during the day come back with a flashlight and start searching your heart like a security guard on a night shift.

Secret sins thrive in silence because silence removes distractions. And when you finally slow down, the truth catches up to you.

That’s usually when the question shows up:

“Does God see me as dirty?”

You want the answer to be no.
You hope the answer is no.
But fear tells you the answer is yes — unless you perform hard enough to convince Him otherwise.

That’s where the cycle starts.

The Danger of Mistaking Performance for Repentance

Here’s what nobody tells you:
Performance feels like repentance at first.

You start waking up earlier to pray.
You delete apps that trigger temptation.
You serve more.
You read more.

And all of that can be genuinely good…
unless it becomes a substitute for repentance.

Repentance isn’t you working harder.
Repentance is you surrendering deeper.

But performance tricks you into thinking the more you do for God, the more He’ll overlook the thing you don’t want to talk about.

And here’s the hardest truth in this whole article:

Not the dramatic, tears-everywhere kind.
Just the honest, “Lord… this is who I’ve been. I need You.”

What You’re Really Asking

When someone asks, “Is my performance atoning for my secret sins?” they’re usually asking something underneath that:

“Does God still want me after what I did?”

Let me answer it plainly:

Yes. He wants you.
But He doesn’t want your sin.
And He doesn’t want your performance covering it up.

You can’t silence guilt by reading more chapters.
You can’t erase sin by volunteering for the nursery.
You can’t climb your way into forgiveness like it’s a spiritual ladder.

Grace isn’t earned.
Grace is received.

Your performance never bought you anything.
Jesus did.

Why We Try to Earn What’s Already Paid For

There’s something in human nature that hates receiving free mercy. We want to contribute. We want to pay the bill. We want to feel like we’re holding up our end of the deal.

But salvation was never a deal.
It was an invitation.

The most ironic thing is this:

Your performance becomes its own sin when it replaces God’s mercy.

Think about it — if you’re trying to atone for your own wrongs, aren’t you stepping into a job Jesus already finished? Aren’t you trying to become your own savior?

That’s self-inflicted pressure. And, trust me. It will wear you down.

The Lie That Makes Performance Attractive

Performance whispers one dangerous lie:

“If I do enough good, I don’t have to be fully honest with God.”

But honesty is the very place healing begins.

Imagine never washing your hands but spraying your cologne to cover the smell. It works… for a little bit. But eventually the cologne stops fighting, and the truth starts winning.

Secret sin doesn’t go away with perfume.
It goes away with repentance.

Why Confession Feels So Hard

Confession is scary for two reasons:

1. You think God will be shocked.

He’s not.
He knew before you did.

2. You think God will pull away.

He won’t.
He runs toward confession, not away from it.

Confession isn’t you telling God something He doesn’t know.
It’s you admitting something you’ve been avoiding.

And the moment you confess, something wild happens:

The thing that owned you starts losing its grip.

Atonement Was Never Your Job

Let’s take something off your shoulders right now.

You cannot atone for your sins.
Not the public ones.
Not the secret ones.
Not the ones you still feel guilty about.

Atonement was handled two thousand years ago on a hill outside Jerusalem.

Your blood can’t pay for sin.
Your tears can’t pay for sin.
Your efforts can’t pay for sin.

Only Jesus’ blood atones.
Only His sacrifice cleanses.
Only His cross has the power to remove guilt.

Everything you’re trying to offer is like paying your electric bill with monopoly money. It might feel responsible, but it’s worthless.

The bill was paid.
Your job is to walk in that freedom, not rewrite the receipt.

The Strange Comfort of Being Fully Known

There is a peace that only comes when you stop hiding.

When you finally say, “Lord, here’s everything… the good, the ugly, the parts I’m ashamed of,” something shifts.

You don’t feel exposed and you don’t feel judged. And, suddenly you have this calming sense of peace. Like a huge weight lifted off your shoulders.

Because for the first time in a long time, you’re not trying to keep up an image. You’re not trying to prove something. You’re not trying to earn your way out of guilt.

You’re just… honest.
And God meets you there.

What Happens When You Stop Performing

When performance dies, relationship grows.

When guilt leaves, joy comes back.

When confession happens, the enemy loses the leverage he’s been using against you.

Suddenly prayer feels lighter.
Worship feels safer.
Grace feels believable again.

And your secret sins lose their power because they’re not secret anymore — not hidden, not ignored, not buried under good works.

They’re surrendered.
Placed at the feet of the One who already paid for them.

So… Is Your Performance Atoning for Your Secret Sins?

Let me answer it gently:

No. It never has. And it never will.

Your performance can’t wash you.
Your efforts can’t cleanse you.
Your spiritual achievements can’t rewrite your past.

Only Jesus atones.
Only His blood cleanses.
Only His grace transforms.

Your role isn’t to perform your way into forgiveness.
Your role is to trust the One who already purchased it.

And the beautiful part?
Once you stop performing, you finally get to breathe.

You finally feel human again.
Loved.
Wanted.
Pursued.
Known.

Not because you did enough —
but because He did everything.

Where You Go From Here

If this question has been sitting in your chest for a while, let this be your moment to pause and breathe. You don’t have to carry this weight another lap around the track.

Here’s the truth, said as simply as possible:

Stop trying to earn what’s already yours.
Stop trying to clean what God has already washed.
Stop trying to perform your way into freedom.

Freedom doesn’t come from effort.
Freedom comes from surrender.

The sooner you stop pretending you can fix your sin, the sooner God can start healing your heart.

You’re not the atonement.
You’re the one being redeemed.

And that’s the whole point of the gospel.

It was an ordinary day when I stumbled across Yeonmi Park’s story. I wasn’t looking for anything heavy—just scrolling, hoping to find something interesting. Then I saw her: a young woman, calm but broken, telling the world what it means to grow up in the darkest place on earth.

Her voice trembled.

The words themselves carried enough weight to silence me. She spoke of hunger so deep she forgot what full felt like. Of seeing her friend’s mother executed for watching a foreign movie. Of crossing a frozen river into China, not knowing if freedom was on the other side or just another kind of slavery.

And suddenly, I looked around my own house—the heat, the fridge full of food, the quiet safety—and I felt… ashamed. Not the self-loathing sort of way, but the kind of shame that comes from realizing how much you’ve taken for granted.

Ever since listening to her story, I cant help but feel her words.

The Land of Shadows

North Korea is often described as “the Hermit Kingdom,” a nation sealed off from truth and light. Its people live under one of the most brutal dictatorships in modern history—one that controls every word, thought, and breath of its citizens.

The regime dictates what you eat, what you say, what you believe. There’s no internet. No free press. No religion—except worship of the Kim family, who are treated as living gods.

Children are raised to believe that the Supreme Leader can read their minds. They are taught songs of praise to him before they can read. To question his power is not only rebellion. Its suicide.

There are still Christians in North Korea—hidden, trembling, and faithful. They meet in secret, underground, whispering hymns because sound carries. They memorize torn pages of Scripture because owning a full Bible is a death sentence.

“Remember those in prison as if you were together with them, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.” — Hebrews 13:3

That verse used to feel theoretical to me. Now its literal.

Yeonmi Park was thirteen when she escaped North Korea with her mother. They crossed the Yalu River into China in the dead of night, chased by cold and fear.

Freedom wasn’t waiting on the other side—it was another kind of slavery. In China, they were sold to human traffickers. Yeonmi’s mother was raped in front of her. Yeonmi herself was sold to a man for less than the price of a used smartphone.

She told her story years later with quiet strength. “I thought that was my fate,” she said.

Eventually, she made it to South Korea through Mongolia—a journey that nearly cost her life. When she arrived, she saw a grocery store for the first time and said it felt like heaven. She couldn’t understand why people had so many choices—why anyone could walk in and pick what they wanted to eat.

On The Shawn Ryan Show, Yeonmi said, “In North Korea, we didn’t even have words for compassion or love in the way you mean it. In America, people complain about oppression while eating three meals a day.”

That line stuck with me.

She also spoke about her heartbreak for her people—the ones still trapped behind that invisible curtain of terror. “They don’t know they’re slaves,” she said softly. “You don’t know what freedom is until you lose it.”

Other escapees echo her story:

• Joseph Kim told the BBC he watched his mother starve to death and his sister disappear before he escaped as a teenager.

• Hyeonseo Lee lived in hiding for ten years in China before reaching South Korea, only to spend years rescuing her family from the North.

They all tell the same truth: the human spirit can survive almost anything—but it shouldn’t have to.

The Wall Between Two Worlds

Not only is it a border, but It’s a wound that hasn’t healed in seventy years.

On the South Korean side, visitors can stand on observation decks and peer through binoculars into the North—a land frozen in time. You can see the fake “propaganda village” the regime built to appear prosperous, its empty buildings standing as hollow lies.

But what moved me most were the stories of South Korean Christians who gather near that wall to pray.

They come quietly, sometimes at dawn. Pastors, missionaries, and ordinary believers—men and women who believe that one day, that wall will fall. They face north, hands lifted, praying for revival, for freedom, for souls they will never meet.

Some even release balloons carrying Bible pages or USB drives filled with sermons and Christian films, hoping the wind carries them across the border.

“The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness, a light has dawned.” — Isaiah 9:2

That verse feels written for them.

America, the Comfortable

Sometimes I wonder what Yeonmi would think if she saw us complain about slow Wi-Fi or lukewarm coffee. We get frustrated when Amazon takes an extra day to deliver. We call that “suffering.”

Meanwhile, a mother in North Korea is boiling tree bark to keep her child alive one more day.

We’ve mistaken abundance for entitlement.

In The Shawn Ryan Show interview, Yeonmi said she couldn’t believe how Americans can be “so free yet so unhappy.” That line pierced me. We have everything she risked her life for—and still, we complain.

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.” — Philippians 4:12

Comfort, I think, is more dangerous to faith than persecution. Because comfort numbs conviction. It makes us forget what others are dying for.

Through the Lens of Faith

The Bible is full of stories of captivity and deliverance. Israel in Egypt. Daniel in Babylon. Paul in prison. Each story reminds us: God’s light doesn’t vanish in darkness—it shines brighter there.

The North Korean underground church is proof of that verse. It exists—quietly, courageously. Men and women gather in secret to whisper hymns and share what scraps of the Word they have.

They know the risk. They do it anyway.

We have churches with coffee bars and plush seats—and yet half the time, we’re “too tired” to go.

Maybe God allows us to hear stories like Yeonmi’s so we don’t grow numb to grace.

Freedom—both physical and spiritual—is a gift. One we’re meant to steward and not waste.

What We Can Do

The temptation after reading about such horror is to feel helpless. What can one person do against an entire regime?

But prayer is not nothing. In fact, it’s everything.

When we pray, we wage war in ways unseen. We lift the broken to the One who heals. We intercede for those who can’t speak, trusting the Spirit to carry their cries where ours can’t reach.

Support the ones on the front lines:

• Liberty in North Korea (LiNK) – helping refugees escape through secret rescue routes.

• Voice of the Martyrs – providing Bibles and aid to the underground church.

• Open Doors USA – documenting persecution and supporting believers worldwide.

We can live differently—gratefully. We can turn off the noise, look around, and whisper, “Thank You, Lord, for what I take for granted.”

While We Sleep in Freedom

I keep thinking about something Yeonmi said: “We don’t know we’re slaves until we’re free.”

That line haunts me. Because even here, in the land of the free, we can become slaves—to comfort, to distraction, to apathy.

Maybe freedom isn’t just the absence of chains. Maybe it’s the presence of gratitude.

I used to scroll past stories like hers, thinking, “That’s tragic,” then move on with my day. Not anymore. Her story changed the way I see everything—my home, my faith, even my meals.

So tonight, when I sit down to eat, I’ll whisper a quiet thank you. Not just for the food, but for the freedom. For the grace I didn’t earn. For the mercy I take for granted.

And I’ll remember the people in that land without light—the mothers whispering prayers in secret, the children dreaming of rice, the men who dare to believe in a God their government denies.

Because while we sleep in freedom, they suffer in silence.
And maybe the least we can do… is not stay silent too.

As the holidays draw near—the season of tables, laughter, and gratitude—let’s remember those who have none of it. Let’s be thankful not just in word, but in heart. Every warm meal, every open church door, every moment spent freely is a blessing others only dream of.

So when we bow our heads this Thanksgiving, may our prayer be simple:

“Lord, thank You for the freedom to thank You.”

There’s a pulse running through the world right now—faint but growing louder—like a heartbeat beneath the noise of industry and screens. You can feel it when you look at the headlines too long, or when your spirit stirs for no reason you can name. The sense that history is winding itself toward something final. The ancients called it the fullness of time. Today we call it instability, acceleration, and collapse.

Every few millennia, heaven collides with the works of man. The prophets described these collisions as visitations—moments when God steps through the veil and shakes everything built on lies. Historians call them revolutions. Same event. Different vocabulary. We are living through one now. The spiritual and the technological are fusing, and out of that fusion comes a hum that sounds an awful lot like the Great Awakening.

The Dream That Wouldn’t Die

Sometimes the future visits early, disguised as a dream.

In August of 1980, a man named Ken Peters had a dream that split his life in half. He wasn’t a pastor or a prophet—he didn’t even believe in any of it. But what he saw that night would shadow him for decades: a world unraveled, a civilization seduced.

He heard a trumpet—metallic, deep, vibrating through bone and sky. The earth shook. Graves opened. People climbed out dressed in light. The living panicked. And then—blackout. Every television, every radio, every circuit went dead. Two weeks of silence. The modern world, suddenly medieval.

When the screens came back on, a single man filled them all. He offered peace for loyalty, unity for identity. A new world under one name. The Prophetic Algorithm

Prophecy has always been cyclical. Warning, mockery, acceleration, judgment. In the old world, the watchmen climbed stone walls and sounded trumpets when armies approached. Now the walls are digital, and the trumpets are podcasts, data leaks, and dreams. The new watchmen are programmers with Bibles open beside their keyboards, scientists who can’t explain why their experiments feel haunted, believers reading Revelation through the glow of a smartphone.

Daniel said knowledge would multiply in the last days. He didn’t specify how much. Today knowledge doubles every twelve hours. We drown in data but thirst for truth. We call it progress; Scripture calls it the quickening before the crash.

Dreams Colliding with Data

Yesterday’s prophecy became today’s prototype.

Ken Peters saw the screens. Now we live inside them.
He saw the mark. We call it convenience.

Central banks design digital currencies that can be tracked, paused, or programmed. The UN’s Global Digital Compact proposes a unified digital identity that links finance, health, and movement.

The infrastructure of Revelation is already on the whiteboard—marketed as inclusion and security. Control never begins with tyranny; it begins with streamlining.

He saw a blackout; now governments test emergency alerts that override every device.
He saw a global voice; now algorithms already decide what you can say.
The blueprint of his nightmare is etched into silicon.

The Return of the Watchmen

Our new gods run on electricity and metrics.

Every civilization builds a tower. Ours glows.
We call it the Internet of Everything, quantum computing, AI integration. It’s Babel rebuilt with fiber optics and arrogance.

AI promises omniscience; quantum networks hint at omnipresence; biotechnology flirts with omnipotence. Humanity, once again, reaching for godhood through machinery. Genesis called it rebellion. We call it research grants.

When you edit the image of God, you evict His Spirit from the temple. We are teaching machines to mimic consciousness while we forget how to keep our own souls awake.

The Great Divide

The Great Awakening won’t come through pulpits—it will come through people who refuse to comply. It’s not emotional revival; it’s discernment sharpened to a blade. The division won’t be denominational; it will be spiritual.

All over the world, ordinary people are dreaming again. Farmers, teenagers, soldiers—each reporting the same symbols: fire, shaking, light breaking through static. The message is identical across languages and latitudes: Wake up.

This awakening hurts before it heals. It tears illusions out by the root. But it also restores sight to those who thought faith was just metaphor. It isn’t. It’s armor.

Eyes Like Fire

So where does all this leave us? Honestly—right back at the quiet, steady work of following Jesus one step at a time. The world is loud, confusing, and way too good at pulling our attention in a dozen directions at once, but the narrow path doesn’t ask for perfection. It asks for direction.

Keep your Bible open. Keep talking to Him, even if the words feel clumsy. Keep turning away from the things that dull your heart. Keep choosing the small acts of obedience that no one else sees but He does.

Following Jesus isn’t about sprinting. It’s about staying with Him—steady, honest, willing. And if you do that, you’ll look back one day and realize He carried you farther than you ever expected.

Nigeria has become one of the most dangerous places in the world to be a Christian. Groups like Boko Haram and ISIS-West Africa attack Christian villages, burn churches, and kidnap believers.

According to Open Doors, more Christians are killed for their faith in Nigeria than anywhere else in the world—over 5,000 people a year. That means nearly every day, somewhere in Nigeria, someone loses their life because they refuse to deny Christ.

It didn’t start this way. Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s, violence was mostly limited to the northern part of the country, where Islamic law (called Sharia) was introduced. But over time, the violence spread south and became more organized. Entire farming communities—mostly Christian—have been destroyed by militant groups.

And yet, through all of this, many Nigerian believers keep gathering, praying, singing, and sharing the gospel. They remind us what real faith looks like under fire. And, let’s be honest. Their faith is probably more genuine, heartfelt and courageous than most churches in America.

Why Persecution Has Grown

• Extremism: Radical Islamic groups want to erase Christianity from certain regions.

• Government weakness: Many attacks go unpunished, so the violence continues.

• Land and resources: Some groups use religion as an excuse to seize land from Christian farmers.

• Spiritual warfare: The enemy has always hated God’s people—but persecution never stops the gospel. It often spreads it even further.

What Revelation Shows Us

The book of Revelation isn’t just about end-time events—it’s about spiritual reality. In Revelation 6, we see the souls of martyrs crying out for justice. In Revelation 12, we read about a dragon fighting against believers. These pictures remind us that persecution is more than just politics—it’s part of a larger spiritual battle.

But Revelation also gives us hope: Jesus wins. Every act of violence and every tear shed by a believer will be redeemed. God promises a day when He’ll “wipe away every tear,” and no one will ever suffer again (Revelation 21:4).

So even though persecution hurts, it points us toward eternity. It’s a reminder that our faith is worth more than comfort, safety, or even our lives.

But if we stop our analysis at “Islamic extremism vs Christianity,” we miss the deeper architecture of what’s actually happening. This isn’t just religious conflict. This is resource warfare with a religious mask. This is financial colonialism dressed as counterterrorism. This is Babylonian playbook, African theater.

Let’s pull back the curtain.

Follow the Money: Who Funds Boko Haram?

The Surface Story:
“Boko Haram is a grassroots Islamic extremist group that emerged organically from northern Nigeria.”

The Operational Reality:

Insurgent groups don’t sustain decade-long military operations without funding, weapons, and logistics. So where does it come from?

Funding Sources (Documented):

1. Regional Networks

• Connections to Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM)

• ISIS-West Africa affiliation (post-2015 split)

• Question: Who funds AQIM and ISIS? Follow it upstream.

2. Resource Extraction

• Control of territory with mineral wealth (tin, columbite, gold)

• Taxation of local populations

• Kidnapping ransoms (estimated millions annually)

• Pattern: “Extremist zones” consistently overlap with resource-rich regions

3. External Actors (The Uncomfortable Part)

• Arms dealers (Western and Eastern weapons documented in Boko Haram hands)

• Destabilization as strategy (competing geopolitical interests in Africa)

• Historical precedent: CIA-funded mujahideen in Afghanistan became Taliban. Same playbook, different continent?

The Question No One Asks:

If Western intelligence agencies can track crypto transactions globally, freeze bank accounts remotely (see: Canadian truckers), and monitor financial networks in real-time... how is Boko Haram still getting paid?

Either:

• Western intelligence is incompetent (unlikely)

• Or they’re allowing it because instability serves other interests

1. “Religious violence” breaks out in resource-rich area

2. Christian farming communities displaced (they owned the land)

3. Land becomes “unsafe” or “ungovernable”

4. Multinational corporations or aligned groups acquire access (at reduced cost due to “instability”)

5. Resources extracted, profits flow outward

This is the same pattern used in:

• Congo (coltan mining during “ethnic conflict”)

• Sudan (oil fields during “religious war”)

• Afghanistan (rare earth minerals during “war on terror”)

Religion becomes the cover story. Resources are the objective.

Christian farmers aren’t being killed because they’re Christian.
They’re being killed because they’re IN THE WAY of resource extraction.
The religion just makes it easy to recruit the killers and sell the narrative.

The Governance Problem: Weakness or Design?

But let’s ask: Is this incompetence or engineering?

2. Corruption (But Whose Corruption?)

• Yes, Nigerian officials are corrupt

• But who’s paying the bribes?

• Multinational corporations, foreign governments, arms dealers

• Corruption is a TOOL of external control, not just a local problem

3. Security Force Complicity

• Documented cases of Nigerian military “unable” to stop attacks despite having location intel

• Weapons “disappearing” from armories, ending up in Boko Haram hands

• Question: Incompetence or intentional supply chain?

The Uncomfortable Truth:

What if Nigerian “government weakness” is manufactured weakness—kept intentionally destabilized so that external actors can:

• Justify “peacekeeping” interventions

• Maintain access to resources during “crisis”

• Prevent Nigeria from becoming a strong, independent African power

Strong, stable Nigeria = Threat to external resource control

The Financial Warfare Dimension: How the West Enables Persecution

Here’s where it connects to what’s happening globally (and why this matters to YOU as a Western Christian creator).

The Payment Processor Chokepoint

Scenario: You want to support Nigerian believers.

Traditional Method:

• Wire transfer to church/ministry

• Credit card donation to relief organization

• Bank-to-bank transaction

The Problem:

Every one of those transactions goes through:

• Banks (regulated by governments)

• Payment processors (Visa, Mastercard, Stripe)

• International financial monitoring systems

What happens when:

• Nigerian government designates a church as “linked to extremism” (false flag)

• Western banks “comply with anti-terrorism finance laws” (block transactions)

• Payment processors suspend services to “high-risk regions”

Your donation is blocked. The church receives nothing. Legal but impossible.

This is already happening:

• Missionaries report frozen accounts

• Relief organizations can’t transfer funds

• Churches can’t receive international support

The same infrastructure being built to “fight terrorism” becomes the infrastructure to STARVE the persecuted church.

Western church could TEACH this. We’re not.

Nigerian believers need:

They need:

The Western church gave Nigeria the 66-book edited version.

What if Nigerian martyrs had access to:

• The Book of Enoch (quoted by Jude, explaining the Watchers and corruption of creation)

• The Book of Jubilees (solar calendar, prophetic timelines)

• The full Covenant Archive (complete testimony)

Would their understanding of spiritual warfare be deeper?
Would their prophetic awareness be sharper?
Would they see Babylon’s fingerprints on their persecution?

The Inversion: How Babylon Uses Persecution for Control

Here’s the final strategic layer most miss:

Babylon doesn’t just ALLOW persecution.
Babylon MANUFACTURES persecution to achieve multiple objectives:

Objective 1: Resource Extraction

Objective 2: Narrative Control

Watch how persecution is USED:

• Western media covers it selectively

• Certain groups highlighted, others ignored (based on geopolitical alignment)

• “We must intervene” justifications (leading to military presence)

• “Aid” organizations arrive (some legitimate, some covers for intelligence ops)

Persecution becomes JUSTIFICATION for Western intervention.
Intervention becomes COVER for resource control.

Objective 3: Church Domestication

Here’s the spiritual warfare angle:

When persecution is extreme, Western church responds with:

• Humanitarian aid (good)

So Western church is kept in “humanitarian response” mode—never “structural warfare” mode.

We treat symptoms. We never attack the disease.

What’s happening in Nigeria isn’t isolated.

It’s a TEMPLATE.

Watch the pattern:

Phase 1: Destabilize region (fund extremists, provoke conflict)
Phase 2: Displace population (particularly property-owning groups)
Phase 3: Extract resources (under guise of “crisis management”)
Phase 4: Control narrative (selective media coverage)

This was done in:
