Thank you for sharing your story. Have my own of how I crawled out. Cost me a marriage, but then, couldn't have been much of a marriage, huh? Alcohol is no respecter of persons.
I believe we're all wired to be addicted to something. Mine was acceptance. When I couldn't get that, vodka was my everything. I pulled out every stand of hair on my head, hallucinated, ran into several (gratefully) compassionate cops, almost lost my family, my life, my God. And no matter what program or rehab or hospital I went to, nothing would work until I made the choice to put God back on the throne. He's healed my human body and my soul, and I am grateful for every day I'm here to spread His love & joy.
I’m so glad you’re still here & that you found your way back to God! That kind of healing doesn’t happen by accident. Truly grateful you shared this. Your life is a testimony all by itself!
This is deeply honest. Thank you for letting us in.
